6 Effective Fat Burning Workouts for Teenage Girls

When a girl reaches her teenage years, there is more pressure to look good, not just in her physical appearance but also her body. Girls feel compelled to lose weight and achieve a model-like body to avoid being teased as someone on the heavy side. Whatever the motivations may be, here are 6 fat burning workouts that will help make teenage girls look good and feel healthy at the same time.

Get up and move

Instead of lying down every weekend, why not do some household chores or play with your younger siblings? Or if you video game exercises, play with it for at least 30 minutes every day. Teens these days have the tendency to spend the whole day in bed, surfing the net so if you really want to lose weight, then motivate yourself to move around.

Cardio Exercises

Cardio exercises are effective in helping you lose weight and at the same time, essential to keep the heart healthy. As a teen, you should be able to incorporate various cardio activities such as running, biking, swimming and even dancing. You can even rent some DVDs about aerobic exercises which you can do at home.

Tone your Muscles

You wouldn’t want flabby arms and legs while you grow up so as much as possible, lift those weights and turn those fats into cuts. Push-ups, squats, leg press and twist lunges are effective when it comes to toning your muscles. If you want, you can even purchase some dumbbells and lift some weights while watching television.

Lose the Baby Fats

Getting some abs may take some time but it is attainable. Although abdominal crunches or sit-ups are the most common way to get that abs, there is a tendency to misalign your spine thus resulting to poor posture. Bicycle sit-ups is another alternative wherein you bend your right knee towards your chest while extending the left leg and rotating your torso so that the left elbow touches your right knee. Do this alternately with your left knee and right elbow.

Get Into Sports

Schools these days have Physical Education as part of their curriculum. Even outside gym class, join teams and play sports that you find interesting to play with. Sports not only provide you with a healthy body that keeps you from gaining weight, it also develops discipline and sportsmanship within yourself.

Proper Diet

All of these routines will not be effective unless you combine it with proper diet. As much as possible, avoid starving yourself and eating unhealthy foods such as chips and sodas. Look into the food pyramid and see what types of foods are essential for everyday diet. And drink lots of water to keep you hydrated.

Losing those fats may take some time but with proper hard work and discipline, you will surely achieve that body you’ve always wanted.
